近年线上上传（COVA）已成为常态，纸质照片不是强制，但建议准备纸质照片并与线上版本保持一致，先确保纸质照片合格再行上传。

要点速览：6 个月内拍摄｜白色背景｜正面、免冠、露双耳｜尺寸以头像大小为核心｜2×2 英寸优选（略小可接受）｜请勿按申请表上的框剪裁。

一、基本规格

  • 拍摄时间：近 6 个月。
  • 姿态与构图：正面、免冠、露双耳，与美国护照照相近。
  • 背景：纯白色、均匀无阴影；偏色/灰白背景不接受。
  • 头像尺寸最关键：中国签证头部略小于美护标准，但通常符合美国护照要求的照片也可被接受。
  • 成品尺寸：2×2 英寸（优先推荐），允许略小；不要根据申请表上的框线裁剪（打印大小不一）。

二、拍摄与打印建议

  • 可自行拍摄，然后到门店冲印（如 Walgreens、Walmart 等）。
  • 不建议使用家用喷墨（inkjet）直接打印，无论相纸与否，容易被拒。
  • 若坚持自印，请将成品放入清水 5 分钟后晾干，以检验耐水性与固色。
  • 保险起见：花几毛钱在门店打印更稳妥。
  • 纸质照片粘贴：无胶水也没关系，我们可代为贴附。

COVA online upload is standard; paper photos are not strictly required but are recommended. Keep the uploaded and printed photos consistent. Ensure the paper photo meets the specs first, then upload.

At a Glance: taken within 6 months · white background · full‑face, no hat, ears visible · head size matters most · 2×2 inch preferred (slightly smaller OK) · do not cut to fit the printed box on the form.

1) Core Specs

  • Taken within the last 6 months.
  • Front‑facing, no headwear, ears visible — similar to U.S. passport style.
  • Background: solid white, even lighting; tinted/grayish backgrounds are rejected.
  • Head size is key. PRC head size is slightly smaller than U.S. standard, but U.S.‑passport‑compliant photos are usually accepted.
  • Print size: 2×2 inch (preferred), slightly smaller acceptable; do not trim to the printed box on the application form.

2) Shooting & Printing Tips

  • Shoot yourself and print in store (Walgreens, Walmart, etc.).
  • Not recommended: home inkjet prints — often refused regardless of paper type.
  • If you must DIY, soak the print in water for 5 minutes and air‑dry to test color fastness.
  • To be safe, just pay a few cents and print at a store.
